Trekking in Atlas & Sahara

Day 1: Marrakech

Reception at Marrakech airport by our guide then transfer to riad or hotel (depending on availability)

Day 2: Marrakech – Demnate – Ait Bouali

Departing from Marrakech early after breakfast, we take the road that runs along the Atlas chain through the plain of haouz. We reach the small town of Demnate, discovering its typical market. Then we continue to the Natural Bridge of Imin Ifri a hike to discover the natural bridge and have lunch there. then by breathtaking landscapes. We will join the Red villages of Ait Bouali, visited the Tiz’n Tirghist pass (2400M) where we find rock engravings (2 hours of hiking) night at the lodge in Ait Bouali with a Berber family. 4 hours by car.

Day 3: Hike in the Aït Bouguemez

We devote the day to the discovery of the Aït Bouali valley with its small earthen villages scattered at the edge of the crops, the green of the cereals invades the valley. Visit the Jaro gorges, lunch with my family in the Aït Bouguemez valley. The afternoon is sacrificed to participation, each on his own, in the life of these Montagnards, working in the fields with the women in the harvest of wheat, barley, potatoes, etc. Opportunity to discover and participate in weaving among the villagers, The idea is to experience a magical and unforgettable moment, tradition, hospitality, tolerance, Discretion and humor. night in a lodge in Agouti. 4 hours walk and 1 hour drive.

Day 4: Aït Bouguemez – The Valley of the Roses – Dades

Before resuming the road to the valley of roses, we will visit Sidi Moussa, capital of the happy valley, then we will meet our vehicles in the village of Timit … The road enters the High Atlas mountains and will lead us to the Tizi-n pass -Ait Imi (2910 m) and the Tizi-n-Ait Hamd pass (3100m).

Today you will have a picnic at 3000m altitude. Then we will discover the most beautiful southern foothills of the Atlas, the Valley of the Roses. Seized by the contrast between arid mountains and lush gardens on the banks of the wadi. Night in the Dades Valley.

3 to 4 hours of walking and 4 hours of driving.


Day 5: Dades and Todra Gorges – Merzouga

After breakfast, Departure towards the Gorges de Todra and green gardens without forgetting the meeting of nomads and their herds of goats. By a dry plateau we reach the green valley of Ziz passing by Erfoud famous for its fossilized marbles and discovery of the culinary specialty of the region (MEDFOUNA) and after arriving at the foot of the dunes, we find our caravan of camels after loading a small hour of walking to reach our camp. We enjoy the sunset, mint tea, dinner, entertainment and night in a tent or under the stars. Accommodation: camp in the Sahara desert. (5 hours drive 3 hours walk)

Day 6: Merzouga – N’kob

Following a morning walk before breakfast to enjoy the sunrise and appreciate the magical lights that come from the horizon among the sand dunes, return to the village of Merzouga by our caravan to meet your driver. Rest in the Kasbah, Take a shower and Breakfast (we can plan a breakfast in the bivouac). Leave the dunes, cross an endless reg, sprinkle with some acacia trees in spectacular landscapes, then continue towards Alnif then Tazzarine. Night at the inhabitant in Nkob after having made a walk in the palm grove and discovered its pretty Kasbah.

Day 7: N’kob – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Via the famous Draa valley we reach Ouarzazate, visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou and kasbah of Talouat, then we cross the atlas via the Tichka pass we reach Marrakech, the rest of the evening to enjoy Marrakech.

Day 8: Transfer for the Flight

Free time in Marrakech if the plane’s hours allow it, Transfer to the airport.
